PRESSURE & PROCESS VESSELS

DESIGN CODE.
The listed vessels are designed to PD5500 Category 2, which for most applications provides the most economic vessel scantlings. For a given design, Category 1 vessels are of exactly the same thickness material but the welds are subject to 100% NDT. Category 3 vessels are only subject to visual inspection of welds and whilst some small vessels can be economically viable, this category generally results in thicker vessels due to the restricted design stress. Vessels designed to ASME Vlll can vary in thickness (+/-) when compared to the equivalent PD5500 vessel. Integ vessel engineers with many years of design experience and aided by the latest computer software can guide clients to achieve the optimum design code/category for a particular application.

CORROSION ALLOWANCE.
Section 3.3. of PD5500 requires the designer to take account of corrosive products or environment when specifying material thickness. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to declare details of the contained media and its susceptibility to vessel plate corrosion, oxidation, scaling, abrasion & erosion together with any tendency to stress corrosion cracking. The final corrosion allowance is to be agreed between supplier and purchaser taking the vessel design life into account but subject to a minimum of 1mm.

CYCLIC LOADING/FATIGUE.
When a vessel is subject to pressure and/or temperature cycles a danger of material fatigue can exist. Given the fluctuating parameters, Integ can undertake cyclic loading calculations in accordance with PD5500 Annex C and Enquiry case 106 to determine the allowable number of cycles and vessel design life.

ALTERNATIVE STEEL GRADES AND DESIGN CATEGORIES.
This specification and price table is based on PD5500 Cat 2 vessels, BS1501-151-430A grade steel. For Cat 1 (100% radiography) or alternative materials, refer to table on page 3. Integ can also design and fabricate vessels in Titanium, Hastelloy, Monel, Incolloy. Prices on application.

VACUUM VESSELS.
Vessel shown with prices marked* are suitable for full vacuum.

HEATING & COOLING, INSULATION COATINGS AND LININGS, ACCESS STEELWORK.
Refer to Integ Lists 110, 123, 130 for specifications and prices.

NOZZLE LOADINGS

Load may be imposed on vessel ( nozzles, which must be taken into account at design stage. Integ will analyse nozzle loads in accordance with PD5500 Appx.G, to design shell and reinforcing plate dimensions for each loaded nozzle. The following information should therefore be provided by the purchaser:-Load X Long shear - Fl
Load Y Circ shear - Fc
Load Z Radial shear - Fr
Moment X Circ bending - Mc
Moment Y Longitudinal - Ml
Moment Z Torsional - Mt

THIRD PARTY DESIGN VERIFICATION SURVEILLANCE/CERTIFICATION.
Budget costs for Third Party Inspection are given on page 3. Normally, independent inspection is arranged by purchaser but Integ can place orders for this work if instructed. Form 'X' on completion will be included.

DETAILED DESIGN & COSTING.
When pressure vessel requirements are established Integ will prepare detailed quotations for each item including heating systems, insulation, special painting, pipework, instrumentation etc, as specified in your enquiry.

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS.
Vessel calculations are prepared using "Finglow" software. Construction drawings prepared on AutoCad format by fully experienced vessel engineers. Examples of completed coded vessel contracts will gladly be supplied on request. 2 copies Design Calculations, Construction and 'As Built' drawings included.

MANUFACTURE AND DOCUMENTATION.
Integ pressure vessels are fabricated as required in shops certified to ISO 9002 to agreed Quality (Inspection and Test) plans. All welders are fully qualified to EN287, Welding Procedure specifications to EN288. Material certification and related documentation is as detailed in List No.140.
