NOTES ON PRICES - STAINLESS STEEL SITE WELDED TANKS

Prices are calculated on cost of materials ruling at date of publication, and are subject to rise and fall adjustment in line with BSC prices ruling, and National Labour awards.

Tank Design

BSEN 14015 covers stainless steel site welded tanks. In respect of tank base, shell and roof plates, full account has been taken of wind and snow loadings, with wind girders included as required.

Seismic forces have not been included, but can be analysed given local seismic data.

Tank Fittings

The choice of fittings for site-built tanks is very extensive but for budget cost purposes, a selection of the more common fittings and accessories is price tabled.

Scope of Supply

INTEG scope of supply includes design, preparation of general arrangement and detail drawings, provisions of qualified supervision and experienced labour, all materials and consumables, craneage, diesel welding plant, site hut(s) — see note 6 below. Site work will comply with Health and Safety provisions in force.

On completion, material and test certificates are Issued in data book form, with weld procedure and welder qualification records. If third party Inspection is employed, relevant costs will be for account of the purchaser and notification of outside Inspection must be given to us before drawing work starts.

Supply Conditions

Erected tank prices are based on the following conditions:—

1.
Site to be freely accessible to road transport, without bund walls but with good hardstanding and working space around each tank for our erection equipment and personnel.
2.
Foundations to be at ground level, complete and cured prior to commencement of work on site. Level checks by purchaser.
3.
Erection crews will be permitted seven days' access to site, with unrestricted working hours, without
interruption by other contractors.
4.
Hydraulic testing is Included, based on tanks being filled and emptied with clean water without cost to
ourselves. Test water to be available at a rate specified by us.
5.Radiographic examination of welds can be carried out at extra cost listed (Price 'B').
6.Power for lighting and hand tools to be supplied free of charge, to tank site.

Heating Coils and Insulation

Certain liquids require heating for flow or process reasons and heating coils of plain or finned surface type might be suitable. Or electric immersion heaters may be preferred. Or electric/steam outflow heaters only may be adequate. Whatever the product, INTEG can recommend a combined heating and insulation formula to meet heat-up requirement and to minimise heat losses by insulating and cladding. See list no, 90.

Plate Small Tanks

For overseas projects, stainless steel tanks are shop fabricated and, if appropriate, trial erected before shipment. INTEG supply will include fully detailed drawings and erection procedure, welding rods, erection aids, test equipment as required.

Shell plates are rolled to curvature and edge prepared. Tank plate sections are bundled, loose items (manways, flanged nozzles, electrodes, gauges, etc.) are close board crated with shipping marks applied. Packing is carried out generally to BS1133.

Site Erection

INTEG can undertake complete site erection Overseas, on Customers' prepared foundations. Alternatively, where local labour is employed, our construction Supervisor will ensure erection and testing is correctly and efficiently carried out. The selection of crane type and size, quantity and power of diesel driven weld sets, consumables, skilled and unskilled labour requirements will be advised when project details are known.
